Author Visits at Patchouli Joe's

There are two different types of Author Visits at Patchouli Joe's Books & Indulgences:

1. Author Book Signing/Event
   •  Please complete this Google Form to express your interest in a signing/ event. 
     • To qualify for an author event, book(s) must be available for order through our distributors such as Ingram, Edelweiss, etc. 
2. Annual Indie Author Festival​​​​​​​
   • Please review the guidelines below to see if you qualify for the Indie Author Festival.
     • ​​​​​​​Guidelines for Indie Author Festival Applicants:
       • ​​​​​​​Must be local to Texas
       • Must be an Indie author 
         • ​​​​​​​If you are unsure if you classify as an Indie author, please complete the Google form above for Author Book Signing/Event and name your publisher/ where your books can be ordered from. 
       • If selected, must be able to provide own books, as well as set-up supplies such as a table, tent, and method of payment processing. 
   • Fill out this application to apply for a slot in the Indie Author Festival. 
   • Invitations in response to the application will begin going out in Fall 2023.

Tips for a successful author engagement:

• Encourage your family, friends, and other contacts to purchase books, and especially your book, at Patchouli Joe’s Books and Indulgences or through our website.
• Contact your local media and mailing lists to let them know about your event. 
• Send press releases, review copies, and other promotional materials to your local media and book bloggers.
• Get involved with book clubs, libraries, and other community organizations. 
• Get involved with the American Booksellers Association through IndieBound.org. If your book has an ISBN and you list your book on IndieBound.org, your book will be made available to indie booksellers nationally.

To list your book on IndieBound.org:

• Create your personal account at IndieBound.org.
• Go to ww.indiebound.org/addabook.
• Submit data and image.
• You will receive an email when your book is approved. Once approved, it can take up to 24 hours for your book to appear in the search results on indie bookstore pages and on IndieBound.org.
