UNT American Literary Review Monthly Reading Series

 

Patchouli Joe's is honored to collaborate with UNT's American Literary Review to host the monthly ALR reading series.

American Literary Review is UNT's nationally renowned 34-year-old literary magazine, which has published Pulitzer Prize winners such as Carl Phillips and Jericho Brown. 

The ALR monthly reading series features three UNT creative-writing graduate students and one writer from the greater community per installment.

March's featured writers are:

  • Anna Chotlos: Anna’s essays and poems have recently appeared in Split Lip, Hotel Amerika, Sweet Lit, and River Teeth’s Beautiful Things. She holds an MA from Ohio University and now teaches and writes in Denton, Texas where she is pursuing a PhD in creative writing at the University of North Texas and serving as Managing Editor for American Literary Review.

  • Hector Dominguez: Hector is a fiction and creative nonfiction writer born in Chicago, Illinois, and partially raised in rural Mexico. He holds an MFA in fiction from Western Kentucky University and is pursuing his Ph.D. in creative writing at the University of North Texas.

  • Megan McManama (Lim): Megan is a teaching fellow and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of North Texas. She received her MFA from Brigham Young University. She has taught writing for nine years. Her writing is published or forthcoming in The Pinch, Citron Review, Cimarron Review, Western Humanities Review, and Inscape. She is married and the mother of two little girls. She loves being on her road bike and tries to get to the ocean every chance she can. 

  • Logen Cure: Logen is a queer poet and professor. She curates Inner Moonlight, the monthly reading series and podcast for The Wild Detectives in Dallas. She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her debut full-length poetry collection, Welcome to Midland (Deep Vellum Publishing 2021), was shortlisted for the Reading the West Book Awards. Learn more at logencure.com.
